Cooperative Systems Supported by Active Database Technology

Rapid changing business processes need an IT infrastructure that supports the cooperation of applications that are located in separated business units. This paper explores the opportunity of combining process formalisation and active database technology to support this IT infrastructural need. Both parts have to be incorporated in today's IT infrastructure to support tomorrow's business demands.
